A complex engineering feat to design two towers while restoring three 19th century brick buildings and including a fully operational firehouse, LeMessurier rose to the occasion. The towers rise from a 5-story podium in the 2 million square foot project, while 5 levels below grade offer crucial parking. Integrating the towers with the restored buildings is an 8-story sky-lit atrium. Vierendeel trusses at the perimeter reduce overturning forces leaving unencumbered space for the low-rise portion.
