Blueprints at Addison Circle
Addison, Texas

An iconic sculpture cantilevering over a traffic circle, Artist Mel Chin's public art project evolves a forest of curved pipes in five independent petals that resemble the branching pattern of a grove of oak trees. Bringing art and engineering to life, the distorted surfaces meld a lattice of pipes floating historical blueprints from the city of Addison through the air, while a subterranean concrete tension ring stabilizes the overall sculpture.
