Boston, Massachusetts
Predominantly a renovation of an historic building in Boston’s Longwood neighborhood, this project employed uncommon engineering solutions. The use of the up-down construction method was triggered by the need for five levels of below grade parking. To satisfy the Historic Commission’s requirement for façade preservation, extensive support trusses were erected outside the building to support the existing masonry wall while the interior of the building was renovated.
