Amherst, Massachusetts
Built into the side of a hill, this 7-building 1500 bed complex progressed from schematic design to construction documents in less than 9 months, and a staged release of the documents streamlined both the design and construction process. The buildings are tiered over one another each looking out over campus’ athletic fields and the Connecticut River. Barrel roofs, earth retention and numerous observation portals link the buildings within the complex as well as with the surrounding topography.
