Fernbank Museum of Natural History
Atlanta, Georgia

To house an imposing full-scale dinosaur exhibit requires an equally impressive space; this museum boasts a central atrium showcasing the largest specimens on display. Flanking the atrium are spiral staircases allowing patrons to view the exhibits while moving from floor to floor. Built into a hillside, a counterfort retaining wall was employed to resist lateral earth pressures.
