WORK
House of the Academy
Cambridge, Massachusetts

Headquartered in Cambridge since its founding in 1780, the Academy’s mission is to ‘cultivate every art and science’. Using timber, steel and brick as primary construction materials, the finish of the Academy’s hub is warm and inviting, an appropriate embodiment of its stated mission. Tucked in the woods on a formerly private estate, the House of the Academy strikes an apt balance between proximity to Boston’s urban center, and seclusion to prompt study and reflection.
