St. Paul, Minnesota
Seen from the street, the signature feature of this arts center is the multistory curved curtain wall projecting from the main façade plane, allowing light into the vast lobbies. Once inside, the function of the building is to maintain acoustic separation between the performance hall, the theater and the remaining public spaces within. To do so, the two main halls are structurally independent and nested within the surrounding building segments.
