A renovation and addition to the existing College Union Building, this highly sustainable project achieved LEED Gold certification. The renovation includes reinforcing of the existing timber roof framing to support newly established campus standard snow loads. Pre-tensioned tie rods add strength to the long span arched glu-lam roof beams over the main ballroom/assembly space. The addition includes exposed concrete framing, polished concrete slabs, expansive green roofs, and photovoltaic arrays.
