WORK
University Hall
Boston, Massachusetts

Positioned on a reclaimed landfill with persistent soil settlement, a framed first floor supports a range of classrooms, lecture halls, studios, and performance venues while long steel spans reduce the number of piles driven 200 feet to bedrock. At the heart of the building, a glass-walled, full height atrium forms a circulation hub fostering an interdisciplinary learning experience and providing sweeping views of Boston Harbor. The signature, undulating canopy projects 40 feet beyond the atrium curtainwall and completes the arc of the neighboring campus center canopy.
