Embassy of the United States
Amman, Jordan

Spread over 12 acres atop the crest of a hill, this blast resistant 200,000 square foot fortress encompasses six buildings and supporting facilities for the embassy. Although removed from the sweltering city center, heavily reinforced perimeter walls offer safety for the embassy's occupants while the concrete buildings are equipped with the latest security advances including solid steel doors, windows capable of repelling artillery rounds, and bunkers with supplies to last several days.
