The center is comprised of two interconnected buildings: the renovation of a timber arch building, and the construction of a new hockey arena. Providing access between the two buildings necessitated new floors beneath the existing timber roof, as well as raising the adjacent grade so that spectators and students can access a concourse at the upper bowl of the hockey arena. This project represents multitudes of eras, materials, foundations, functions and design approaches.
