Wind Technology Testing Center
Boston, Massachusetts

The WTTC is a state of the art columnless laboratory representing the future of the wind industry. Inside the steel pipe-truss-framed facility are three post-tensioned reaction blocks faced with rotating chamfered steel plates capable of cyclic fatigue testing of the world’s largest wind turbine blades, up to 90 meters in length. The reaction face plates were manufactured in pieces and assembled on site as blade testing necessitates anchorage to steel larger than can be milled anywhere on earth.
