Our Culture

At LeMessurier, a dedicated and varied group of individuals come together in a unique firm. We pioneer best-in-class solutions, provide exemplary client service, advance building codes and the practices of structural engineering and building enclosure design.

We share, teach, and learn from each other and from industry experts. We are artists and musicians, cyclists and runners, skiers and fly-fishers, cat-people and dog-lovers. Members of our team chair national committees, present and publish our work in national periodicals and conferences, teach at local and nationally renowned universities, mentor the next generation, advocate for the environment, and volunteer in organizations large and small in ways too numerous to mention.

Since joining LeMessurier in 1997, Craig has taken the lead on many of the firm’s most complex designs, often leveraging his expertise in both software and advanced structural analysis. A true emissary of Bill LeMessurier’s guiding principle to “simplify, simplify, simplify,” he has made it his mission to pursue the proper balance between engineering fundamentals and the ever-advancing technologies that are core to structural engineering practice. In addition to keeping watch over the health of our business, Craig will continue to push the envelope of technology with an eye on providing better service to our clients.

Aaron enjoys working with a team of engineers on large projects and finds mentoring young engineers to be one of the most rewarding aspects of the profession.

Avinash joined LeMessurier in 2025 as a Designer, bringing with him five years of structural engineering experience in Pune, India, as well as a strong academic foundation from Virginia Tech, where he earned his MS in Structural Engineering. During graduate school, he worked as both a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, with a focus on cold-formed steel deck systems. Avinash is a certified EIT and is excited to begin his career in the U.S., contributing to innovative and challenging structures. He looks forward to growing his expertise through hands-on project work and continued learning.

Dave Eckrote is the Philadelphia Office Director, leading the firm’s strategic expansion throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. With over 25 years of experience, Dave is a seasoned structural engineer and business development leader known for his client-centric approach to design. He specializes in integrating innovative structural solutions for complex institutional and developer-led facilities, including high-profile projects in the healthcare, government, and university sectors. Dave focuses on building long-term relationships and leveraging LeMessurier’s technical rigor to help clients meet their most demanding performance and design goals.

David endeavors to deliver client-centered service while contributing to and leading the structural design effort on a variety of new and renovation projects. Prior to joining LeMessurier in 2015, David gained significant experience as a licensed residential builder in Michigan, where he owned a successful small business and performed much of the work. With this unique perspective, he appreciates well-thought-out details and the constructability of the pieces on the page. He and his wife currently live in Boston where they enjoy cooking at home or experiencing the food scene.

Emily always tries to keep in mind that engineering is never the point of a project - the people and environments served always have to be front and center. His major projects at LeMessurier so far are the Josiah Quincy Upper School and the Kenmore Square Redevelopment. Eric participates in the company's environmental sustainability practice, focusing on studying structural framing systems that optimize embodied carbon reduction. Another structural engineering interest of his is progressive collapse mitigation, which he studied in grad school at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Ines joined LeMessurier after completing her master’s, and is currently an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) while working towards obtaining her Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Since 2018, Irfan has brought his wide experience in structural mechanics to bear at LeMessurier. Leveraging his expertise in computational mechanics and experience in carrying out finite element analysis on a broad range of applications, from medical prosthetics, pressure vessels, steel catenary risers, off-shore oil rigs, and mechanical component analysis, to dynamic soil-structure interaction analyses for nuclear structures, he focuses on first principles to develop efficient, buildable solutions rather than relying on prescriptive design methods.

With a background in architectural drafting and technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology, followed by continued education at the Boston Architectural College and numerous building enclosure seminars, John has developed a deep and multifaceted understanding of the built environment. He began his career in structural engineering in the late 1980s and soon found a lasting passion for building enclosures. As a founding member and current President of the New England Chapter of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, he remains actively engaged in advancing the field. Now, John looks forward to contributing to the continued growth of the LeMessurier Enclosure Division.

With a background in architecture, Mat brings a distinct perspective, viewing projects and documentation with a critical eye for aesthetics and close attention to details. Matt joined LeMessurier in 2025 as a BIM Coordinator, bringing over 25 years of experience in structural engineering, modeling, and BIM coordination. Throughout his career, he has worked across a wide range of building types and construction methods, driven by a passion for the unique challenges and opportunities each project presents. For Matt, the most exciting aspect of his work is the diversity—no two projects are ever quite the same, whether in scope, design, or collaboration. Outside the office, Matt enjoys quality time with his family and friends, often kayaking, fishing, playing basketball, riding motorcycles, or gaming—usually with his son by his side.

Joining LeMessurier in 2025, Michael brings a strong academic and professional foundation to the team. He earned his BS (2023) and MS (2025) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, where he completed the FE and holds his EIT in Illinois. His experience includes internships at LeMessurier and at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ERDC lab in Champaign, providing him with exposure to both private and public sector projects. In addition to his engineering background, Michael completed ROTC and has served as a reserve engineer officer for the past two years.
