Boston College’s new Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society is located in this beautiful granite-clad gothic building, adjacent to the Merkert Center and Higgins Hall. We enjoyed returning to BC and engineering the new building and its link to Higgins Hall, a past project of ours. Payette designed the 150,000 square-foot building to include laboratory space, offices, classrooms, maker spaces, cleanrooms, common areas, and an auditorium. The Schiller Institute will address critical energy, health, and environmental issues in new multi-disciplinary and collaborative research spaces.
