Construction Begins on New American Repertory Theater at Harvard University

The David E. and Stacey L. Goel Center for Creativity and Performance will be the new home of the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University. The state-of-the-art theater in Boston’s Allston neighborhood will include two performance venues, rehearsal studios, teaching spaces, a public lobby, and an outdoor performance yard. Designed by Haworth Thompkins and ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge in collaboration with Charcoalblue and constructed by Shawmut Design and Construction, the building will attain the Living Building Challenge core accreditation from the International Living Future Institute for its regenerative, carbon-neutral design. Construction on the Center will continue into 2026.
