LeMessurier Deepens Commitment to ACE Mentoring Program

Dec 1, 2024

LeMessurier continues to strengthen its partnership with the ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentor Program, a national initiative designed to inspire high school students to pursue careers in the design and construction industry. This year, five dedicated LeMessurier employees, Stephen Holland, Eric Johnson, Ethan Turner, Natasha Mundis, and Pengcheng Zhou, actively mentored students in the Greater Boston ACE Mentoring Program, helping shape the next generation of industry professionals.

As part of their commitment, LeMessurier sponsors five pizza sessions annually to foster camaraderie and provide sustenance during the busy mentoring season. The firm also participates in the highly anticipated end-of-year fundraiser to support the program’s ongoing success. Additionally, LeMessurier offers a comprehensive summer internship program, inviting one ACE participant to join the firm for eight weeks to experience life as a rising college senior in the engineering field.

ACE mentors and students meet weekly from October through April, dedicating two hours each session to engaging activities such as icebreakers, guest presentations, and hands-on challenges like building spaghetti and marshmallow towers. This year, the students are tackling an ambitious project to design a new wing for a building, culminating in a final presentation held at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Throughout multiple sites in Boston, the current cohort includes over 100 students, reflecting a growing interest in this dynamic program.

LeMessurier’s mentors go above and beyond, attending every weekly session and providing personalized guidance to students. By nurturing real-world skills and encouraging collaboration, LeMessurier demonstrates its enduring dedication to inspiring and empowering the next generation of engineers, architects, and builders.
