Over the past two years, LeMessurier has partnered with SCB Architecture and Planning, Turner Construction, and Olifant to explore mass timber construction in the upper Midwest, Rocky Mountain Colorado, and Southeastern regions of the United States. These studies, funded by a USFS Wood Innovation Grant from the USDA Forest Service, examine the cost differences, scheduling efficiencies, and global warming potential of redesign projects in three cities: Minneapolis, Denver, and Atlanta.
Architecture 2030, a nonprofit organization focused on providing solutions for global climate change in the built environment, hosted a three-part webinar series to present the findings of these studies. Suzanne Robinson from LeMessurier presented on “Mass Timber Multifamily: Carbon, Cost, and Constructability” during Session 2 of the series on October 30, 2024, sparking important conversations around the future of sustainable mass timber construction across a diverse scope of multifamily building projects.
