Sanborn House
The Sanborn House, a marquee building adjacent to Baker Library on Dartmouth's main quad, stands as a historical treasure of the campus. LeMessurier was engaged to assess and improve the building's enclosure while preserving its historic character.
Facade Assessment: Our team used an aerial lift to conduct a hands-on evaluation of the building's exterior envelope, documenting existing conditions and identifying areas for improvement.
Thermal Performance Analysis: Following the initial assessment, LeMessurier developed solutions for insulating mass masonry walls, conditioning attics and basements, and selecting historically appropriate window replacements.
Design Phase Consultation: LeMessurier provided ongoing technical guidance to ensure proposed improvements would maintain the building's aesthetic while enhancing its performance.
